The purpose of this site is to help adults with ADHD find and meet others with this difference for mutual support. For this reason, it will be necessary to session information in a persistent cookie, as is standard practice, but we also want to collect geolocation data, however, we are only interested in it down to the "zip code" level of resolution. That is adequate for meeting other members in your neighborhood without them knowing anything other than your general area.
Our approach with other kinds of personal data is to simply not collect it in the first place. While we want to use real names and avoid pseudonyms we are only asking for the member's first name and initial of their last name, and no other personally-identifying information.
The most sensitive information we collect here is simply the fact that the member has self-identified as having ADHB. We recognize different levels of privacy needs in this area. Some members are public about their diagnosis and somewhat to keep it private. Since none of the information given to us for Squirrels.club is visible to non-members it would not be easy for anyone to put together any useful information even if we were hacked.
This network will never need to collect credit card numbers or any kind of financial information, and at this time we do not intend to charge for membership.
This policy will be updated as more information becomes available.
